Introduction

Michael Cronin Associates is a firm of consulting engineers that provides specialist services in civil and structural engineering design,  fire safety and project management for clients in the industrial,  commercial and state sectors.    We are involved in new build,  extensions to existing facilities and with a particular speciality in the reconfiguration of existing structures for new uses.    We frequently work as a sub-consultant providing specialist expertise to contractors and other organisations.

We work throughout Ireland and the UK.    We combine leading edge design and modelling technology with sound engineering judgement to provide clients with an efficient economic service.    Currently the practice is Eurocode compliant and uses building information management (BIM) technology for all new projects.

Our approach is positive,  committed and flexible.

About

Practice principal:

Michael M. Cronin  BE  MSc  DIC  CEng  FIEI  MIStructE  MICE  CEnv

Michael Cronin worked with contractors and consultants on major infrastructure projects before joining the practice.    A graduate of UCC he undertook postgraduate studies at Imperial College London specialising in advanced methods of engineering analysis and materials science.    Since going into practice he has maintained his interest in these fields:  the office was an early adopter of finite element analysis,  automated structural design,  standardised calculation routines,  CAD and BIM.

Professional qualifications:  Chartered Engineer,  Fellow of Engineers Ireland,  Member of Institution of Structural Engineers,  Member of Institution of Civil Engineers,  Member of Society for the Environment.
